Hey!
Sorry about the lack of an email last week from me. But it's okay because I have repented and finished my email:) This week has been super awesome. I guess you should all know that the MMM got iPads!!!! So, I can see my emails everyday but I can't reply until Monday.  It is okay to  send me Pics of those cute monkeys during the day though……Who knows?  I could get a door slam, then have a cute picture pop up  to brighten my day:)

Monday, June 8, 2015:
Today we decided to cook dinner for the Elders. We spent all day cooking and preparing dinner for them since Elder Fuller goes home on the 24th. We cooked steaks, chicken, Rosemary potatoes, fruit salad, salad, brownies and ice cream! It turned out pretty good! We actually fed 7 elders! They just started popping up! So we prepared everything we could in advance and headed to the Elders apartment. Don't worry, we didn't break any rules. They live in a really, really nice place with a community
kitchen and BBQ. It was so nice! Elder Fuller grilled the meat and it was really good. The Elders seemed pretty happy. Oh my, I felt like Sis. Coleman and I worked on it all day!  It was quite the production. We had fun dancing around our kitchen listening to music and cooking! After dinner we had an appointment to go see a less active woman with the Elders. Sister Coleman was supposed to lead out and she had prepared an awesome lesson on the quote by C.S. Lewis "

“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”

" it was really an awesome message but the lady was super anti-social. She didn't want to talk so we basically prayed with her and left. Sister Coleman was kinda bummed afterwards because it was her first experience with a person that really shut down on us so to say. After the lesson we had a good chat with each other.  I tried to help her with some early missionary problems that were occurring. She is a great Sister! It never ceases to amaze me how Heavenly Father puts certain people in our paths at a certain time.

Tuesday June 9, 2015:
Sister Coleman and I both had a prompting to call the Elders and explain how we felt after the lesson yesterday. They said; “let's go to Chipotle for lunch and we can talk about it then.”  It is so sunny today it felt fabulous! We talked to a cute lady in line with a little girl and we talked about how they just got back from a Disney cruise! I was so jealous! The Elders basically taught us a lesson on the Spirit and about missions in general. They are both really far into their missions so they get it. We knocked some doors today too, without much luck, but that is okay.

Wednesday, June 10, 2015:
HaPpY 10th BiRtHdAy BrOoKlYn! I can't believe she is already 10! I sent a package home with birthday stuff in it so mom you'll have to open the box. We messed up and missed our alarm this morning and slept in! We felt so bad! Thank goodness for repentance!   Sister Coleman asked the Elders for a blessing this morning.  It was awesome. Then Elder Hughes gave her a blessing Elder Fuller was like; “ Sister Young, do you need a blessing?”  He was in tune with the Spirit because I was  so stressed out. I said yes and asked if Elder Fuller would give me the blessing. He blessed me with just what I needed! We then met up with the STL's and Sister Jenkins came to our area for exchanges. We went and saw Sister Hughes and had a nice lesson with her. Afterwards we went to

the Purcell's for dinner (aka the people that go do service at the cemetery) She wants to see a pic of the Brigham Young couch so can you email me a pic? After we went to Mykea's and had a lesson on being happy. We then knocked some doors got a few "I love Jesus...SLAM"  doors then went home to heart attack the lady across the hall. It was super fun!

Thursday, June 11, 2015:
We exchanged back, and went to Bishop's Meeting. Then we had dinner with a member that just moved here from Italy! The food was DELISH!!!!! So she is pregnant with a baby girl due in August . We were so excited to find out that  her husband isn't a member! We didn't know that till we got talking! Man, the Spirit was so strong when we talked about the gospel! It would be awesome to get him baptized!  It might be awhile though! We then went to see Christina at her work.  She couldn't talk but it was nice to at least let her know we miss her!

Friday, June 12, 2015:
Today we had Zone Conference which was amazing! The “dying”* missionaries all bore their testimonies! I am going to miss them all so much when they leave! Then, we got IPAD'S! Yup you read it! Finally!!!!! I was so excited! It will be so great to further the Lord's work! We spent some time at McDonald's mooching off their wifi to set our iPads up! I felt so weird using technology! Ha,ha it's been a long time since I did that!
*Missionaries who have finished their time and are heading home.

Saturday, June 13, 2015:
We did a lot of service today.

Sunday, June 14, 2015:
Today we went to church. Elder Fuller and Elder Hughes spoke in sacrament meeting! They did so good! Elder Hughes spoke on the Enabling Power of the Atonement and Elder Fuller spoke on Grace. I got copies of both of their talks so I could study them! I felt like it was meant just for me to hear! Oh, so when we woke up this morning there was  a note under our door from the lady
we heart attacked. She said she hadn't left her apartment last night and was speechless when she saw what we did to her this morning! The note said how happy it made her feel and how on earth did we know it was her birthday! Talk about listening to the Spirit! So cool! After church, while eating lunch we got a knock on our door and we were like what the heck who could that be? It was a girl who is a recent convert named Jenna and she goes to the Twin Cities YSA ward! She said she wanted to come and see us! It was so cool to have a lesson delivered right to us in our laps! She said she would come over and work out with us in the mornings too! How awesome!?! So we had another miracle tonight when we texted Eva to see if we could come see her.  She said yes! We went to her apartment and her brother Isaiah and his friend Treaia were there! We had an awesome discussion! They had a lot of questions about what we did as missionaries! We answered all of them and Treaia and Eva were totally agreeing with the standards of the church. Isaiah was a little more stubborn so we compared the law of chastity and word of wisdom to his daughter. That got him thinking ha….ha! Anyways that was such a cool miracle! They are all feeding us lunch Saturday and we are having a lesson Wednesday!

That's it for this week but I would like to say how grateful I am for this gospel. I am so grateful I decided to come serve a mission. It has been the best decision I have made in my entire life. I know that this is the Lord's work and he is at the head of it.
I love you all! Have a wonderful week!
Love you to the Moonisota and back!

Hey ya'll!

Monday, June 1, 2015:
Today we had zone p-day and went to Minnehaha falls for my 3rd time! It was super fun to see it all thawed out and green!  I felt like I was in the jungle somewhere!  We played some games and after we had a costume competition. I am pretty sure Sister Coleman and I won! We went and bought some shirts from the Sandlot that said "YOU'RE KILLIN' ME SMALLS!" Ha, ha, ha…. it was pretty funny! Sister Coleman and I had an ECI (Emergency Companion Inventory) where we talked and cleaned our apartment really well! It made us feel a lot
better! Sometimes you just need to have a human moment on a mission! I also hit my 8 month mark today!?! How the flip did that happen? So crazy!

Tuesday, June 2, 2015:
"You're Killin me Smalls!"
Happy Birthday to my dear Sister Hunt! This morning we went to Mykea's house and cooked breakfast with her. Then we had a little lesson on being happy and seeing the Light of Christ in all things! We had to go to the mission office today where I was able to pick up my package! Thanks Mom! We had dinner at Sister Wetzel's house which was fun. She went out teaching with us after. We went and saw Sister Hill. We sang her songs and took her a treat from Mickey D's. We had an awesome lesson where the Spirit was so strong!  So when we got home we got a call from the ZL's Elder Fuller and Hughes.  They were like; “Sister Young, we have a question for you. We have Zone training next week and we have been praying about it and your name keeps coming to us. Would you do a 30 minute training on
applying the atonement to our IPads?”  I was like funny guys! You got me! They then acted super serious and said; “Sister Young, we aren't kidding, we really have been praying about this will you please help us out?”
Sorry, we have got to go. Stay tuned next week to see what happens with the training. I will finish next week....
THE REST OF THE STORY!!
I was like fine I'll do it, I felt bad so I complied. As I was
flipping out in my head, they busted up laughing! They were like gotcha! I was ticked, for heaven’s sakes…… applying the atonement to IPads?! LOL, they really got me good!

Wednesday, June 3, 2015:
Today we did some service. We got a call from a member who had an emergency where they had to call the police. We had to talk to the members to keep them calm so they didn't
hurt someone. It was pretty intense. After that, we went to the doctor
for my stupid hives! My doctor is an old German lady. At the office they kept calling me Ashlee. It was really weird. haha! She was really confused with the whole companion thing, and was like "I have twins and we used to listen to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir CD
that I found at a garage sale.  There was a song we used to march around our living room singing. She said; “it is patriotic!" So, Sister Coleman   and I start throwing out names of patriotic hymns....no luck. After 10 minutes we figured out it was Battle Hymn of the Republic! She got so excited and told us to sing it! Then she began singing and marching in her office! It was so dang funny! After that we went to dinner with Christy and had a great chat at Don Pablo's. It's kind of like Su Casa. Christy is so nice to take us out to eat and see how we are doing! Thanks girl!

Thursday, June 4, 2015:
Today we had district meeting! Sister Jenkins gave a great training that really helped me out. She related missionary work to surfing. I felt spiritually fed after that. After
District meeting we went and got my blood work done for the allergist. That was not very much fun. They took quite a few little bottles of my blood. It was nasty….. but cool enough that I had to watch. Sister Coleman was grossed out ha, ha! Later we went to a member’s home for dinner. It was really yummy. Their little 2 year old daughter was being potty trained. Let's just say she was so proud of herself that she came and showed us at dinner lol! After dinner, Elder Fuller called and asked us to come help move a member into the ward. The Elders were on exchanges so Elder Ellis was his comp.  He came out the same time as
Sis. Coleman. ( so he is still green) Nice kid though.  Elder Fuller somehow found out about his and Elder Fords nickname here in Lake Nokomis.... "GQ x 2" hahahahaha!!!!! He was like;  “Sis. Young…..so GQ x 2?!?  What is that?!? Ha, ha I just busted up laughing and told him how it came about and he was like "Sister Young if it was anyone but you I would be worried, but you can get away with it! "Ha, ha oh man, I'm going to miss that guy when he goes home!

Friday, June 5, 2015:
Today we went to Sister Dorothy Hills with the Elders to help her clean her apartment and move some furniture around.  It was a lot of work but it was fun! Ha,ha oh my.  Elder Fuller tried on a pair of her silver sparkly shoes with a matching purse.  LOL! We took pics, it was great!!! The Elders had to leave early but sweet Sister Hill made us fried chicken and corn. It was so sweet of her. Later on we had an awesome miracle at Little Caesar’s. For some reason I had a prompting to go get pizza. I was like uhhh okay. Sister Coleman was like alright, let's go. So we walk in and order our pizza and this guy comes in.  Then he shocked us by saying; "are y'all, those people who go to your door on Sunday's?" We said yes! We started doing our missionary thing.  He was like ohh……. grabbed his pizza and ran not walked, but ran out the door! haha! I swear I didn't look that bad! ;) So, the manager comes out and was like what's your name?  I told him Sister Young and he was like no, what's your real name? So I told him again that I am Sister Young. He, then said, no Ashlee! I was taken back by the use of my first name.  He could tell that I was really uncomfortable so he told me that the credit card name gets printed on our order. Then he said that he has a Book of Mormon on his nightstand and he reads it every day! He then continued to say that he has been to the LDS church in Brooklyn Park and how beautiful it was. We told him we would love to meet with him.  We exchanged info and he said he would call us! Then we realized we were so taken back and then excited, that we didn't catch his name. So I asked and he said "its Brother Rafael to you!" We were so thrilled after! Then we went to the church to eat dinner. Following that we watched sweet Elder L. Tom Perry's funeral. He was such a wonderful representative of the Savior.

Saturday, June 6, 2015: We went and did service with the Elders at the
same house as last week. We had a nice lesson with them afterwards. We
went to Mom, Dennie’s and Luis's for a lesson and dinner.

Sunday, June 7, 2015:
Church was awesome, today! Unfortunately we didn't have any investigators to church which is always really sad as a missionary. But, I was so grateful to be able to hear people's testimonies and to partake of the sacrament to renew my covenants with my Father in Heaven. We had dinner at our ward mission leader’s home. It was so nice. Later, we knocked quite a few doors without much success. But, that's okay because we planted a lot of seeds:)

Love ya!

Hey Ya'll!!!!
Monday, Memorial Day, May 25, 2015
Today after we emailed Sister Hunt and I went to lunch with Elder and Sister Graff! It was so fun to go out to lunch with them! They are seriously the cutest! Since it is Sister Hunt's last day we took a lot of
pictures! There were some awesome graffiti walls we had been eyeing so we did some photoshoots.... then we went to the sculpture garden and took pics there! Someone said "hey sisters" we flipped

around super confused and it was this couple who started asking how our p-day was going! We were like; “good, who are you?” They are from Provo and were here for an internship.  It was so fun to see fellow members out and about! After P-day the girls had set up an early birthday surprise party for Sister Hunt at the church! It was so fun! They bought food, and cake and presents! I was so glad to be able to spend time with her on her “fake” birthday! I am going to miss her so much! We played some games at the church, then said bye to a few people! It was sad to see everyone say bye to her!
Tuesday, May 26, 2015:
This morning after we packed the car, we headed to the church to meet the Elders. I had asked last night to receive a blessing.  I had also woke up with a few hives... the blessing helped me feel at peace. When we got to the mission conference it was crazy!  ALL of the missionaries in the MMM were there! It was honestly a little crazy with everyone seeing their old comps and friends! I hope we do a mission wide conference again! Elder Clarke from the 70 was there. He gave an amazing training! I am ticked….. I left my notes at the apartment, so I will have to give you the highlights of his training next week.  He talked a LOT about the importance of the sacrament! So stay tuned for next week’s letter with the notes! After the conference it was P O U R I N G rain! We were out there juggling Sister Hunt and Sister Coleman's stuff.  We seriously looked like we hopped in the shower fully clothed! I was soaked!!!! It came time for me to say “see you later” to my Sister Hunt. I love her so much.  I am so grateful for her and for Heavenly Father for letting me be her companion for 3 transfers! I learned so much from her, but the number one thing I learned is that your companion really does become your best friend, and resource. (next to the Lord) We will be best comps for eternity! I love you Seester Hunt!!!!!!!!! Sister Coleman has been out for 7 weeks. She has been serving in St. Cloud, which she is very sad to leave.  I know how she feels having being transferred while still being trained! She is from Vancouver, Washington so she was used to the rain we were having! She is very nice! It will be interesting to train a missionary though! I can already tell the difference between her being a greenie and Sister Hunt being well seasoned. I am looking forward to getting to know her better. I know that this is a part of Heavenly Father's plan for me and for my comps! I just have to do what Proverbs 3:5-6 says and also what Nephi says "GO & DO!" I know that the Lord will help me and strengthen me during this time.

Wednesday, May 27, 2015:
Today was our first day training! I had to wipe the dust (don't worry mom, not literally) off my first 12 weeks booklet.  It turns out that Sister Coleman's first trainer didn't use the booklet……. so we started on week 1 instead of week 7... I have got some catching up to do with her... I wish I could start my mission over and take all the knowledge I have now and apply it! Ha, ha wouldn't that be so great?!?! We stopped by some people that we had set appointments up with and not one was home! I was bummed because I want people to meet Sis. Coleman and for her to get to know the area better! We got a call from Summer. She told us that her mom could use some assistance around the house this evening... we of course jumped on that opportunity. So, we went over to the “girl’s” house and helped paint some walls! Seriously, I have had so much experience doing different kinds of service on my mission. I feel like I could work at Home Depot! Ha-ha! We had an awesome lesson with Shania about tithing and fasting! She also shared some cool experiences she has had while reading the Book of Mormon! I am seriously so proud of her!!! After that we had a lesson with Faith and she had a friend over! Faith and Shania actually shared their testimonies with her friend and the spirit was so strong! I teared up hearing these two amazing young women share their testimony’s!  I am so blessed to have been able to see them change over the past 6 months. Heavenly Father has truly blessed me to introduce me to such choice daughters of God!
Thursday, May 28, 2015:
Thursdays are crazy as usual with all of our meetings but luckily because of mission conference we didn't have district meeting so we were able to train again today! Man, I seriously love re-reading the first 12 weeks and watching little snip-its of the district and seeing how far I have come since I first watched them! So crazy! We met with Bishop Chrysler; he is da best! We had dinner with the Jensen family. They have 3 little kids and all of them wanted to share a scripture with us! The little 3 year old looks like me
when I was a kid…… sporting a little fro! She came up to me and said “your hair is curly just like mine!” She was boinging my curls…… so dang cute! Then she recited the entire story of Jesus walking on water…….. PERFECTLY, WORD FOR WORD! It was crazy! This little girl is going to go places!!!! We had a super cool miracle stopping by one of the YSA's recent converts Eva. Her brother was there and asked to take the discussions! We are so pumped! I am so excited to start teaching him!!
Saturday, May 30, 2015:
This morning the Elders asked us to go do some service for a lady that the St. Paul Elders had met. We got there and saw these 2 properties completely covered with plants. Looked like a jungle. Long story short she wanted us to clean it all. We spent 4 hours and made a huge dent but there is so much to be done. I had dirt everywhere! I used an old fashioned push mower to get some of the weeds knocked down! Those things are hard! I seriously will never complain about weeding our yard at home ever again!  The lady and her friends who were all very Minnesotan “don't ya know,” made us a “hot dish” and wild rice for lunch! It was really yummy! I still giggle at all the accents here! We had to shower again after service, because I was literally caked in dirt. It was extremely humid so yeah... we looked interesting! We had an awesome lesson with an older lady who is on hospice. She doesn't have too much time left here on earth. She has a strong relationship with our Father in Heaven and is staying positive!
Well, I don't have much time today to email. ( as usual)  We have zone p-day at Minnehaha Falls and we are late... shocker, but I will tell you the moral of this week is to PRAY! When life gets too hard to stand, KNEEL! Alma 34 helped me a lot today with prayer! Also, remember to  pray for Elder L. Tom Perry's family. What a sweet man.
I love you all!!!  I truly appreciate the letters and emails. They help me get through the tough times. Thank you for listening to the Holy Ghost's promptings.
I love you all to the Moonisota and Back!
Love,
Sister Ashlee Young
