Hi Mom, Dad, friends and family,

I’m sorry that my emails have been really short lately. (Can I just say my toes are like popsicles!) Last night it was storming really badly. We thought there was a tornado! The lightning and thunder were non-stop. The wind blew so hard, and was so loud we thought our apartment was going to blow away.  Then, the very next day you wouldn’t even believe how hot and humid it was. It is so green here too!  I really want us to be able to come back here and visit. I love my mission. Sister Coleman and I are such great friends.  Please keep us, and our area in your prayers. We need new people to teach!
I ordered an investigator, but only got a sandwich...
Bad news, I still have hives. DANG IT!  But……the good news is, they are almost gone! Today on our P-Day we had a nerf gun war with our whole Zone and guess what?  I napped before the nerf Zone war and I think it worked, because I won!!  I think the nap helped! Lol!

I’ve got to run we are busy tonight; we are going to teach a less active lady that was a "lost sheep.” I will let you know next week how it goes.

So fun to hear you are having a “Young” family FHE at the Spruces tonight.  FHE is so important! Tell everyone hi and that I love them! Tell Allie I will reply to her great card soon! (I need their address) Her card made my day!

I just want to say I love you all. I love being a missionary and I love the Savior. I know because He Lives that we too can live again. Thank you for your support!  I'll try to email later but probably won't have time. I love you both. Have fun, be safe, and work hard. Please give everyone my love.  I miss my kiddos today!

I love you to the “Moonisota” and back!

Things are going so much better this week here in the Lake Nokomis Ward. The other day, Sister Coleman and I set personal, companion and area goals. Since then we have been trying super hard to achieve them. We have already seen blessings from setting goals. So you know that Monday is my normal day to write and have P-Day. This week we had a special P-Day on Wednesday. It was so much fun!! President Forbes took all of the missionaries including the Senior Missionaries to the Twins game! There were about 135 of us that were able to come to Minneapolis and go. We had a blast! I think the sisters set a record for most women in dresses at a baseball game in the middle of the summer! Lol… To top it off the Twins beat the Orioles 5-3. It was really fun.

President Forbes counseled me to pray for specific things and to do the small and simple things; then I would see miracles. I tried it... and it WORKED! I had a lot of faith in the words that he shared with me. Sister Coleman and I are finally seeing things turn around here! I felt like we got a little lazy at the beginning of this transfer. There was no excuse for it. I am so grateful for Christ's never-failing atonement. I know that I have seen a huge change in myself, my companion, and my area this past week as I have strived to be exactly obedient.

This week I have been praying that we would find some new people to teach the gospel to. I specifically prayed one day that someone who was prepared would come up to us.  I thought that was kind of silly for me to say, but the Spirit prompted me to say it. Yesterday at church as we were greeting folks, a woman ran up to us saying "Sisters, there is a woman here who wants to meet you and she is an investigator!" We were so thrilled! We ran right over to meet this young woman. It turns out that she just moved here to Minnesota from Arizona to change her life. She was meeting with some missionaries down in AZ and couldn't wait to find a chapel here in Minneapolis! She explained to us how much she loved the LDS church and the feeling she gets whenever she is at church or with the missionaries! It was amazing to talk to her about the sacrament. She feels the Spirit so strongly when she partakes of the sacrament and wants to receive all the blessings that she can from that. She loves the Book of Mormon! I have never met an investigator who loves it this much! She said that she was being friendly to people downtown and they just gave her nasty looks. She pulled out her Book of Mormon and started reading in Jacob. When she did, she felt comforted. Then she noticed that she also had compassion for the people being rude. I can honestly say that this young woman is truly an answer to my prayers. I know the Lord has prepared her and lead her to us. I am so excited to see the light in her eyes grow even more as she continues her journey with Jesus Christ.

I hope all is well with you!

Love,

July 8, 2015 "Take me out to the Ball Game.... P-Day and the Minnesota Twins game!!

July 8, 2015:
"President & Sister Forbes, Sister Coleman & me"
Today we went to the Minnesota Twins game! We had the Minnetonka Sisters ride with us, since the stadium is in our area. We couldn't find parking anywhere! We were getting so frustrated! We said a prayer and I pulled up to a place for $25 parking! Heavenly Father answers all of our prayers when we have faith! President bought all the missionaries within an hour away of the field tickets! The Twins played the Baltimore's Orioles....and guess what; the Twins won! It was really cool to be at Target Field stadium. It was so big! The Twins were also promoting #votedozier for the American League All Stars, so that was cool. They had 2 home runs in a row and the stadium went crazy! It was so funny to see all of us missionaries in a section...especially the Elders with their white shirts and ties! I am pretty sure you could see all of us a mile away! I think everyone got sunburned... luckily it turned into a tan for me:) It was super fun to see some of my MTC buddies, Elder Lowe & Oliver! Elder Ford was also there even though he is out of our area; since he was on exchanges with the AP's! After the game we talked about how Aunt Sue knows his Aunt and they both emailed us! Funny how small the world is! We took a pic together to send to our Aunties! After the game we took a ton of fun pictures! When we got home we went to the Clements for dinner! They recently moved into the ward. We had dinner with them a couple of weeks ago. They just moved here from Colorado. They have a 1 year old baby girl named Taryn. It is so fun because she really likes us! After that we set some goals in the car while driving. We saw Jenna sitting outside and went to talk to her. It turns out that Elder Roberts and Chao, were coming over to bless her home! They all asked if we would like to join them. It was a really cool
experience.  The member who came with the Elders is going on a mission soon to SLC.  It was his first time “blessing a home” so that was really cool! Afterwards, I had a really good conversation with the Zone Leaders about goal setting. As I am now half way, I have done a lot of pondering about the things I have accomplished thus far on my mission and things I want to accomplish before I go home. I hope and pray I can be one with my Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ's plan for me and the work He has for me to do here.
"Elder Ford!"
