Friday, October 2, 2015: So, today we stayed home again. Sister
Jolley is running a temperature and I'm being mean by making her stay in bed.
The Elders called and asked why we weren't “weekly planning” at the church... I
told them that Sister Jolley was not feeling well. They offered to come give
her a blessing. We were so happy that they could come. I made calls, planned,
cleaned, organized, and watched all the movies we have on DVD...... Let’s just
say I can quote Mr. Krueger's Christmas perfectly!
Later, “Sleeping Beauty” got up and got ready. We left and went to
get lunch. Sister Jolley wanted $5 Pizza's (that's the name of the place) Mac n'
Cheese pizza, so we drove and picked it up. Then we went and picked up drinks
from good ole Mickey D's. After that the Elders: (Johnston & Coon and
Oldroyd & Dygert) came to give her a blessing. It was really weird/ funny
having them in our apartment #basement. Our low ceilings made them all look
super tall haha! They were like "Sisters apartments are so different...
#decorated" then Elder Dygert gave her a beautiful blessing from Heavenly
Father. We walked them out and when we were walking back down the "once
there was a mouse and a billion bugs #nastystairs”; Sister Jolley was in the
door while I was about 1/2 way down the gross staircase, when thanks to my gracefulness, I slipped and
fell down the entire thing! It HURT SO BAD!!! There was no holding back those
tears! I thought for sure that I had broken my back and behind! I was crying;
partially because of the pain, partly from scaring myself and the rest was
because I fell on the nasty
stairs!!!!! Sister Jolley helped me up while trying not to laugh at the irony
of the situation! We took it easy for the rest of the night, since now both of
us weren't feeling so hot. All thanks to my klutziness! We were pretty bored,
but, that's the life of a missionary...you can't rest because you aren't busy.
It's a problem. Oh well, ce'st la vie!!! So, I am pretty sure my tail bone
is broken which means I will probably be making a trip into the doctor to get
an x-ray...JOY!!!
Anyways, General Conference was so good! I loved all of the talks!
I bawled my eyes out during conference, especially when the MoTab sang "If
the Savior Stood Beside me!" I
looked at my iPad and saw that Mom had emailed me about that song :) I also
cried during Elder Holland's talks about Mothers and President Monson's talk.
What an amazing Prophet! I felt so badly as he struggled so much standing
towards the end of his talk. I was praying so hard that he would be able to
finish it out! I really hope and pray he makes it to next conference! President
Russell M. Nelson's talk also hit me hard. I thought about our Smiley Riley. I
felt so much joy and comfort from listening to our sweet servants of the Lord.
We are so blessed to be able to hear the Lord's counsel all the way around the
world.
I am so grateful to be able to live in these days where we can
watch and listen to the prophets anytime and anywhere even in the mountains
hunting...cough, cough, Dad and Bryan! You better get an elk and send me some
jerky!
So, not a ton happened this week because Sister Jolley was
sick with the flu but, everyone is still going good! We met with Gladys and
Yammah, of course! They have their baptism interview this Wednesday, and are still
on track for baptism on the 17th! We are so excited for them! Both of them are really
excited, and Gladys said she KNOWS that she needs to be baptized! She loves the
church, and what it teaches! She is doing great. Yammah is cute as always. She
loves reading the Book of Mormon. It is a great blessing to see how far they
have come since the first day we started teaching them. Please pray for them to stay strong and be baptized
on the 17th!
Well, I love you all! Don't forget to Ponderize!!!!
Love,
Sister Ashlee Young
